Our preschool accommodates 24 children aged between 2 and 5 years old.

Fun & PlayWe offer a fun and structured day with lots of free play and outside activity. Our free flow concept allows the children to decide what they want to do, whether that be staying outside on the swing or playing inside with their friends; they have the freedom to choose. |
Preparing for PrimaryThis is where children begin their Early Years learning, taking the first step on their journey towards school. By the time they say their goodbyes and move onto Primary school they will have become confident, independent, caring, well-behaved and cheerful children. |
Introduction to LearningChildren in our pre-school will embark on the first stages of learning to read, write and understand simple numbers with the minimum of pressure. We use the jolly phonics system for reading, which is in line with the teaching methods of most local primary schools in the area. |
MAKING LEARNING FUN
We are excited to offer many new initiatives designed to enhance your child's time with us,
and we pride ourselves in being a forward thinking team.
As well as regular trips out designed around our curriculum, such as bus trips to the cinema, or a walk to the the local woods, we often arrange sessions to introduce the children to new experiences such as Judo, Yoga or Mindfulness.

Plastic toy free nurseryWe are very proud that we are a plastic toy free area. All of our toys are made from natural materials which not only reduces our impact on the environment but also has a positive impact on the children.
Natural toys help children improve their critical thinking skills and become better learners because they have to use their imagination more. |

Outdoor learningOutdoor play is an important part of our day and we like to get outside whatever the weather.
From growing vegetables in our kitchen, to using our imagination in the mud kitchen we like to get outside in our puddle suits to ensure that the Scottish weather never stops our fun! |
Loose PartsOur focus on loose parts play provides children with the opportunity to explore and express their creativity in a safe and stimulating environment.

Healthy SnacksWith our “rolling snacks” scheme, healthy snacks are provided between 10am and 11am for whenever the children feel hungry.
Children are encouraged to try new foods, and decide for themselves when they would like to stop playing for 5 minutes and sit and re energise. |
Locally made lunchesOur healthy, varied menu is supplied by a small local business, Little Lunches.
Their service offers snacks and daily hot lunches which are nutritionally balanced, full of family favourites and carefully designed to be really engaging for children. Food is freshly prepared and delivered before 11.30am each day. Lunches arrive hot and ready to serve, making it really easy for our nursery staff to provide yummy, healthy and fun meals for the children to enjoy with their friends. Little Lunches also works with us and parents to carefully accommodate dietary requirements. |
