What it is?A programme to help the partners and adult children of serving military personnel living in Edinburgh get the formal qualifications and work experience they need to start a career in childcare.

Who it is

We will:
- Give you advice to help you identify what formal qualifications you need to do.
- Put you in touch with a registered training provider in Edinburgh so that you can arrange your tuition and support you with your application.
- Provide you with a voluntary work-based placement at our nursery to enable you to get the practical experience you need to earn formal qualifications.
- Support you and help you complete your training.
- Provide you with paid employment on a relief contract (zero hours basis) to provide relief cover at our nursery in Dreghorn and our partner, Colinton Private Nursery in the village of Colinton.
- Pay the full costs of your membership of the PVG Scheme.
- Provide you with full references and use our contacts with other local nurseries to support and help you find paid employment as soon as your training finishes.
