Fully Funded Hours
The City of Edinburgh Council provides 30 hours a week of fully funded childcare for children from the term after they turn 3, until they start school. Each child also receives a hot nutritional and healthy lunch.
Military parents moving to Edinburgh should note that parents in Scotland are able to take advantage of the scheme, whether they work or not. To allow for fully funded, fully flexible childcare you can also choose to split the funded hours between a nursery setting, like Dreghorn, and a childminder who is also registered to the new scheme.
